CH 10 · The Birth of A Knight Called Light

　“… … … …” (Light)

　My head hurts……….

I felt as if I was dreaming, in the dream, I was flying.

　I got up from the bed I was lying on and looked around.

　”…this is the medical office…?” (Light)

　Apparently, it seems I was in the medical office in the training grounds.

　The room is large and there are several beds in a single line. A curtain separated every bed from one another, I raised my upper body and gazed through the window beside me.

　The sunset, it seems that it’s evening.

　“The exam … that, I … … did I win?” (Light)

　I cannot recall what happened.

　I was fighting that man, it seems that when I touched him with my heated up hands, he was thrown against the walls and fainted?

　Did I win or lose?

(TL – he got thrown towards the wall and fainted! You obviously won)

　“My mother! ………” (Light)

　It’s something funny.

　I see my right hand, there seems to be no abnormality like back then, it seems totally normal.

　As I was gazing at my right hand, the doors to the medical office opened.

　“Did you get up?” (Deputy)

{ED – I’m shortening it to deputy, it’s a pain typing deputy head knight whenever his name comes up}

　“Fu, deputy head… ….” (Light)

　He was one of the deputy heads that gave me tips every so often and sparred with me.

　With an expression that has not changed, as usual, he slowly came to me.

　“How is your physical condition?” (Deputy)

　“Uh no … … It’s fine, but why have you come here?” (Light)

　“Your gift awakened at the last moment of the battle, please check your gift status.” (Deputy)

　“………huh?” (Light)

{ED – originally consciousness, but that didn’t sound right so I used status instead}

“Even if you say that, nothing comes up in gift status… I wonder if it’s still not awakened, I can’t seem to find my gift within my status.” (Light)

　“Hmm, it may be that the awakening is still incomplete” (Deputy)

　“Perhaps…” (Light)

　“Ah, don’t worry too much about it, you still won the knight tournament anyways.” (Deputy)

　“Huh!” (Light)

　“Congratulations Light, from now on, you are Knight Light!” (Deputy)

{ED – aren’t knights usually called sir (insert first name)? or later on when they earned some notable achievements Light (insert title). Like Sir Lancelot Du Lac AKA Sir Lancelot of the Lake}

　That means that I won?

　In other words, I passed the Knight Tournament and became a formal knight.

　“Your two friends have also passed, so we were a bit surprised this year, that three first years won against five-year veterans, but even though I passed them as knights, my subordinates will be more severe than ever towards you people so be prepared.” (Deputy)

　“What’s wrong………” (Light)

　“Well, I don’t have any real certainties yet … but … I’ll understand it eventually.” (Deputy)

(TL – I didn’t understand how to make sense of anything in these two sentences)

　That’s when the deputy headman stood up and looked at me in the eyes.

　“There is the entrance ceremony tomorrow, the uniforms of an official knight has been sent to your room, ask your roommates if you have any questions” (Deputy)

　“Yes, sir.” (Light)

　“Get back to your room once you have gotten your bearings.” (Deputy)

　Not waiting for my answer, the deputy head left.

　“Knight………I…am a knight………then, I have fulfilled my promise.” (Light)

　It was a strange feeling of achievement.

　I got up and left the medical office.

　I walked towards my room and opened the door.

　“Ahhh~~~ Regulus!!! Regulus!!!” (Winnie)

　“Arrrgh!!” (Regulus)

　“Oh wow…” (Light)

　It was a coincidence that I walked in on the lovemaking session between Winnie and Regulus.

They were fucking like rabbits in there. {ED – originally longer, but I shortened it because it didn’t sound right.}

　These two were having sex thinking that I wouldn’t be back so soon.

I silently watched their lovemaking session with a poker face.

{ED – something like this: 

　Then I quietly walked back and closed the door behind me and waited for 15 minutes.

This time I knocked on the door.

The door opened.

　“………” (Light)

　“O, Oh please, come in light, today is a very good day!” (Regulus)

　Hah, I felt like laughing after seeing regulus’s red face, it was my fault for not knocking anyways.

　When I entered the room, Winnie embarrassingly welcomed me, also with a red face.

　“Ya-yahoo Light, congratulations!” (Winnie)

　“Oh, thanks, and you too… …” (Light)

　“Have you heard that this year’s successful candidates have five first years in it?” (Regulus)

　“I asked the deputy headmaster a little while ago, the three of us have passed!” (Winnie)

　“Oh, wow…uh… woohoo…” (Light) {ED – he’s trying to act like he didn’t know}

　“I also thought that I would lose honesty, but I managed to win.” (Regulus))

　My new uniform was folded and left on my bed.

　It is a uniform of a regular knight with beautiful decorations and embroidery.

　“Isn’t it the welcoming ceremony tomorrow?” (Regulus)

　“This isn’t a dream, right?” (Winnie)

　“You already said the same thing a little while ago,” (Regulus)

　“Well, ooooh that’s right, hey Light? Did you awaken your gift!?” (Winnie)

　“Oh yeah! Did ya?” (Regulus)

　“Unn, no … in fact, it hasn’t awakened yet…” (Light)

　It’s not a lie. I didn’t see anything in my status, and the identity of my gift is still unknown.

　I remember my right hand burning up. I remembered a strange feeling that something was rising from within, but I don’t know what rose from inside me.

　“Is that true? But, it’s definitely an offensive gift, I envy ya.” (Regulus)

　“It’s okay … … You can manage without it either way!” (Winnie)

　“Well, I will be going to the ceremony tomorrow … I’m looking forward to it.” (Regulus)

　“But we are knights, aren’t we? …” (Light)

　Regulus, Winne and I have become knights.

　With this, I have kept the promise I gave to Lyrica and Sere, all I have to do now is wait for them to return.

　As soon as I thought about Lyrica and Sere, it finally hit me, the fact that I have become a knight.

　The next day, we wore our knight uniforms and joined the Order.

　In front of his majesty, I swore allegiance towards the Order of the Kingdom.

　The entrance ceremony ended unimpeachably, and a dinner party was held in the dormitory of the Order.

　“Hahaha, from now on I’m Knight Regulus!!!”

{ED – should be Sir Regulus, not Knight Regulus, but whatever}

　Regulus chugged tons of ale as if it was water, the surrounding knights didn’t stop him as they watched on as it amused them. It seems that he would collapse sometime later, I was in the corner mixing some drinks together with Winnie.

　“Indeed, it’s the Regulus guy!” (Knight A)

　“Oh no, it’s impossible for us to move him after he collapses…” (Knight B)

…

　While drinking with Winnie, I chatted with her

　“Hey, are you two getting married soon?” (Light)

　“What?! No!” (Winnie) {ED – you can just hear the words baka in that line}

　“I will propose to my childhood friends when they return, but what about you guys? What will you do Winnie?” (Light)

　“Er, um … … It’s too early, I just became a Knight…. .” (Winnie)

　“Is that so?” (Light)

　I didn’t really understand it, but the two people have their own lives, I have no reason to interfere if they do not have any problems.

　Even so, where are those two girls now? Have they defeated the Demon King yet?

I wonder……

Anyways, I have become a Knight!

　At that time, I still didn’t know anything…
